Part of NCMA Headquarters’ vision is to provide tools and resources that enable the entry, development and advancement of all contract management professionals. Furthermore, NCMA values continuing education and training opportunities through its network of local chapters.
NCMA San Diego's Educational Resources
The NCMA San Diego Chapter promotes this vision and supports these values by offering seminars, workshops and webinars. The Chapter also hosts monthly Contractor Administrator's Round Table (CART) meetings which is a great way to learn from contract professionals in industry and government a like in an informal setting. Moreover, the Chapter organizes study groups for the NCMA Certifications such as the Certified Contracts Management (CFCM) certification and the Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) certification. Educational Resources Offered by NCMA National Headquarters
In addition to education resources at the Chapter level, NCMA National Headquarters also provides many opportunities for advancing one's contracting knowleddge. The National Headquarters offers conferences, seminars, books, certification preparation courses and other educational and training materials. Certificate Programs
Members of the San Diego Chapter are fortunate to be in close promimity to San Diego State University's College of Extended Studies which offers a certificate and advanced certificate in Contract Management. For more information, go to their website http://www.ces.sdsu.edu/.
Study Groups
The Chapter routinely organizes study groups for the various certifications offered by NCMA headquarters. Study groups for the Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) and Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) are the most common groups; however, the Chapter is open to organizing study groups for any exam in which there is sufficient interest. If you are interested in participating in a study group, hosting a study group or leading a study group, please contact Education@ncmsd.org. The Chapter is also always looking for subject matter experts to volunteer a few hours to lead one study group session.
Scholarships and Certification Reimbursements
The San Diego Chapter is proud to offer scholarships to help NCMA San Diego members to achieve their educational goals.
