Happy New Year! I hope you had an enjoyable holiday break with your family and friends.
The first half of the NCMA San Diego Chapter 2018-2019 program year has quickly come and gone. In 2018, our chapter events covered topics such as Cyber Security, Financial Management, Other Transaction Agreements, and Fact Based Negotiations. I’m excited about our upcoming program year and hope you can join us for some of the events we have planned. The San Diego Chapter is gearing up for a busy 2019. We are honored to be hosting Denyce Carter, the Vice President of Contracts and Purchasing at General Atomics, and Ralph Yates, Director of Contracts and General Atomics, who in February will be speaking on hot topics in the Government Contracting environment. This will be followed by an engaging discussion on Requests for Equitable Adjustments (REAs) with William M. Pannier in March. Mr. Pannier is attorney and counselor at law for the law offices of William Pannier.
Also, the San Diego Chapter hosts Contract Administrator Round Table (CART) meetings at KES in Kearny Mesa. CART meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month and is a free event. These meetings are a great networking opportunity to get to know other contract management professionals in San Diego while sharing information for resolving your contracting dilemmas. More details about these and all future events will be forthcoming in e-mail announcements or posted on the San Diego Chapter’s website at: http://www.ncmasd.org/home.html. If you are not currently receiving email notices from our chapter and would like to register, please contact our Publicity chairperson Natalie Ricciarelli, at email@example.com, to request that your name be added to our distribution list.
Our chapter is always looking for new volunteers. In a few months the chapter’s Nominations Committee will begin identifying nominees for the elected officer positions and candidates to serve on the board for the 2019-2020 program year. If you are interested in serving on the NCMA San Diego Chapter board for the upcoming program year, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or Jill Haynie, the chapter’s vice president at email@example.com. We encourage each of our members to get involved as much as possible to support the chapter’s events because the more volunteer support we have the more activities and benefits we can offer to you, our members.
If you or someone you know is not currently an active NCMA member and would like to join, renew a lapsed membership, or are in search of additional membership benefit information please visit theNCMA Headquarters website at: https://www.ncmahq.org/connect-with-peers/join-now.
