NCMA is the world’s leading professional resource for those in the field of contract management. The organization is dedicated to the professional growth and educational advancement of procurement and acquisition personnel worldwide. NCMA strives to serve and inform the profession it represents and to offer opportunities for the open exchange of ideas in neutral forums.  

The San Diego Chapter was founded in 1962 to execute upon the ideals of NCMA's National Headquarters and serve the San Diego contracting community.  The Chapter currently has over 400 members who come from the ranks of local government, state government, federal government, industry and academia.  The San Diego Chapter is proud to have received the Gold Graalman Award from Headquarters multiple times.  This award recognizes chapters that provide the best value to members taking into account the demographics and unique aspects of the Chapter. 

 
 

Education

Part of NCMA Headquarters’ vision is to provide tools and resources that enable the entry, development and advancement of all contract management professionals. Furthermore, NCMA values continuing education and training opportunities through its network of local chapters. The NCMA San Diego Chapter promotes this vision and supports these values by offering seminars, workshops and webinars. The Chapter also hosts monthly Contractor Administrator's Round Table (CART) meetings which is a great way to learn from contract professionals in industry and government a like in an informal setting. Moreover, the Chapter organizes study groups for the NCMA Certifications such as the Certified Contracts Management (CFCM) certification and the Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) certification.

 
 

Community Service

The community service mission statement is as follows: The San Diego Chapter of the NCMA Community Outreach program is dedicated to promoting the organization by connecting with our local community through targeted community interaction.

NCMA San Diego, through its Community Service efforts, identifies organizations to which its members can volunteer their time or to which the chapter can make financial donations. One of the Chapter's favorite community outreach events is hosting a toy drive for Toys for Tots.

 
 

Small Business and Government Outreach

NCMA is dedicated to reaching out to small businesses and the government. The chapter does this by acting as a liaison between various professional organizations to coordinate workshops or seminars for the benefit of small business. Furthermore, as part of NCMA San Diego's small business and government outreach efforts, the chapter promulgates NCMA events pertinent to contracting activities with small business and the government contracting organizations.

 
 

College Outreach

NCMA San Diego provides membership information and benefits to San Diego’s many Universities such as: San Diego State University, University of San Diego, UC San Diego, Point Loma Nazarene University, and California State San Marcos.
